Bertie
Ahern (.com) Internet saga moves to the next level...
A
lack of Government security has lead to Taoiseach
Bertie Ahern's Internet domain name been attacked
again by Internet cyber-squatters.
The
cyber-squatters who are Irish now look set to hold
the Government to ransom yet again in the upcoming
weeks after buying a variation of the Taoiseach's
name for use on the Internet...
An
Irish media based Internet company ShowbizIreland.com
discovered the group of Irish cyber-squatters who
have bought:
"The only reason someone would have bought these names
is to sell them back to the Government. The same way
the Americans bought bertieahern.com and directed
it to a pornographic website," said Raymond Senior
a web consultant for ShowbizIreland.com.
"Domain
names are worth money and after the bertieahern.com
site was offered to the Government for $1m and directed
to a pornographic site someone in the Government should
have bought all the variations of the Taoiseach's
name so that the same thing would not happen again.
This is standard practice in the web business."
Last week the Taoiseach lashed out in the Dail at
the cyber-squatters who have offered his Internet
domain name back to him and away from the pornographic
website for a $1m.
In
a bizarre opportunist way someone in Tullamore, Co
Offaly has bought the web name Celia Ahern (celiaahern.com)
just in case the Taoiseach and his girlfriend Celia
Larkin tie the knot in the near future.
