Quinn gets Fat for Stolen Summer...

Irish actor Aidan Quinn had to fatten up for his latest movie role, according to Irish press reports.

Playing an Irish - American fireman in his new movie, Stolen Summer, Quinn had to develop a beer belly before shooting.

"I had a middle aged firemen's gut but I lost it thank God. It's easy to put weight on. I just started saying yes to desserts, bread and beer", he said.

His character in Stolen summer is a stereotypical Irish father, and Quinn claims he had no bother playing the short-tempered role.

He explained: "I got that from my father, Pete Jones the director got it from his and it was really well-written. I grew up in a time when the father had the authority. If your father asked you to do something, there was no debate. You did it."

Recently finished three months of filming Evelyn in Dublin with Pierce Brosnan and ER's Julianna Marguiles, Quinn is due back in Ireland at the end of this month to film a TV movie called Benedict Arnold.
