to take Fowl Irish Role...
Rumours
from Variety in the US state that Cameron
Diaz is considering a role in the movie conversion
of the book Artemis Fowl, written by Irish
writer Eoin Colfer.
Rumours
are rampant that the film giants Miramax are
looking at converting the book Artemis Fowl - which
is being slated as an Irish Harry Potter.
The studio is scheduled to begin shooting the adaptation
of the Irish writer Colfer's book later this year.
The
book is based on the story of a crafty 12-year-old
Irish boy who is immersed in a world of fairies, leprechauns
and gnomes.
The
word is that the film will be produced by Tribeca
Films; run by Jane Rosenthal and Robert
De Niro no less.
The company has made hits for DeNiro such as Meet
the Parents and A Bronx Tale.
The
writer of the book Eoin Colfer has told press that
the film will be made in Ireland later this summer
from August to October.
No
cast is said to be announced yet but word has it Cameron
Diaz may be up for a role.
