Bruckheimer Back Scouting for Arthur...

It has been almost a year since Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer exclusively told ShowBiz Ireland that he intended to film the real tale of King Arthur here, no surprise he was back at the weekend scouting locations.

Two of Hollywood's biggest names Jerry Bruckheimer and Joel Schumacher brought Cate Blanchett to Dublin last summer to film The Veronica Guerin Story.

Jerry enjoyed his stay here so much that he decided to film his next big project in Ireland. At the time he told ShowBiz Ireland:

"We are already developing a project to bring a movie in here called King Arthur later this year. It's a retelling of the tale. It actually happened much earlier than movies in the past or the English have put on it. They changed the way it was told. Like Arthur was really Roman and the Knights of the round table were actually Russian and were great horse men."

So it was no surprise when we bumped into Jerry and some of his crew in his favourite Irish haunt Lillies Bordello at the weekend.

When we first said 'hi' to Jerry the first thing he said was "thanks for the jacket," referring to his ShowBiz Ireland jacket we gave him last year for protection against from the changeable Irish weather.

He went on, "We are back in Ireland scouting for King Arthur. We have been out looking at some amazing locations in the North, and Clive Owen is also confirmed for the part of Arthur."

Seeing as Jerry was out enjoying himself with some friends we decided not to keep 'talking shop' - but he also told us that pre-production was ongoing so hopefully we should see filming here in the summer.
