Two top bands hailing from both sides of the Atlantic played Dublin in the past few days - Good Charlotte finished off their European tour and The Kaiser Chiefs kicked off theirs...

If you happened to pass by the The Olympia Theatre last week and saw crowds of teenagers wearing white face paint and black lipstick don't worry it wasn't a vampire convention - skate punk band Good Charlotte had sold out two nights there...

The US band were coming to the end of their European Tour in Dublin and they didn't go home empty handed. Whilst in the UK the signed a band with an average age of 14 called Linchpin.

Charlotte's Joel Madden (25), said they are always on the lookout for talent and collect demo tapes at every opportunity for their own label DC Flag: "We met Linchpin at a show and they gave us a demo. We always listen to demos fans give us. They're 14, write and play their own music and we're excited to get to work with them."

Also on the gig scene this week were a 5-peice from Leeds called The Kaiser Chiefs who also sold out their Ambassador gig.
