No Charges in Katy French Death...

According to reports in the Irish media no one will face charges over the tragic death of model Katy French. Despite links between the 24-year-old and a known Dublin drug dealer, Garda do not seem to have enough solid evidence to proceed with a prosecution...

It was only last December when the shocking news broke that Katy French had been rushed to hospital in Navan after partying the night away with Kieron 'The Wolf' Ducie. A few short days later she was gone. We all seemed to move-on very quickly but more and more lately, people in this industry are starting to notice the absence of the larger than life personality. Friends such as Andrea Roche and Glenda Gilson feel the loss, and have indicated recently that her irrecoverable presence is still very apparent. She is missed.

Unfortunately, the spectre of her untimely death hangs over every story related to drugs, and more specifically cocaine, in our national newspapers. Not a really a fitting epitaph for such an intelligent and vivacious young girl... But you make your own bed in this industry and Katy, more than anyone else, knew this. Still, we hope the press will eventually forget the tragic circumstances of her death and remember the successes of her life.

Detectives looking into the death, where traces of illegal narcotics are allegedly involved, have indicated that linking a sample of cocaine to a particular drug dealer is unlikely. A Garda source told the Daily Mirror: "Without concrete evidence linking a particular individual to that batch, a prosecution has very little chance of success."
