Pat Kenny Walks The Plank...
Bit of a momentous occasion at the weekend folks, Pat Kenny announced live on The Late Late that he intends to step down from the world's longest running chat show at the end of the season. But now Pat's out of the way, who do you reckon should take over from His Woodeness?

We have never been big fans of Pat Kenny's style of interviewing here at ShowBiz.ie. Kinda wooden, kinda autocue-tastic, kinda boring... Paint by numbers and none too interesting either, we were only chewing the arm off the sofa that time he interviewed Pete Doherty. But he got the job done and turned-up for work on time... Oh, and always managed to plug the corporate sponsors...

But we're not going to revel in Kenny's departure as it's the end of an era. It also means a successor has to be chosen and that person has to fill Pat's well worn shoes... But who the hell could take on this prestigious nixer and carve out a whole new age for The Late Late Show? It's the question we want answered.

Of course, RTE stalwarts such as Ryan Tubridy, Gerry Ryan and Miriam O'Callaghan are obvious front runners. But we'd like to see someone different, contemporary and down with the kids, at the helm of the hit show... We're open to suggestions. We’re already really liking the idear of Dara O'Briain taking the reins...

Other names we're tossing around include Graham Norton, Amanda Byram, Aidan Power, Eamon Dunphy, Tommy Tiernan, David McWilliams, Deirdre O'Kane, Katherine Lynch and a few more... Those who should never EVER be considered include Brian Ormond (Pat Kenny Lite), Lorraine Keane, Daithi O'Shea, any of the Seoige clones, Baz Ashwmammmmy, Patrick Kielty, John Waters, Jason Byrne, Gerald Kean, and the list goes on... But over to you folks, who would you like to see or NOT see presenting The Late Late Show?

Letitia Dean |
Ahhh feck it! Just give the job back to Gay Byrne. Sure aul Gaybo's a ledge and that whole Road Safety gig is getting old... Pat Kenny announced his pending departure last Friday night, former Eastenders actress Letitia Dean was among his guests...
