The Stars Spill-Out of The VVIPs...
A quiet Easter weekend on the celeb front folks so we'll revisit last week's car-azy VVIP Awards as the celeboholics filled with celebohol spilled-out early-doors onto the dry Dublin streets as Good Friday's prohibition kicked-in Irish stylee. What? It WAS thee ironic award giving event of the year thus far...
|
Holly Carpenter |
After a night of sarcy satire and ironical irony that seemed to glide effortlessly over the heads of the somewhere down in the basement of the alphabetical Oirish celebrity set, the VVIP winners and the not so much VVIP winners ended up on the streets of Dublin with no glitzy afterparty on the cards what with it being Good Friday o'clock... Those darn VVIP organisers are the ShowBiz sadists that just keep on giving folks. Slag the attendees off all night, then no Krystle afterparty. Sadistic. And they loved the punishment.

Rozanna Purcell, Daniella Moyles |
But with most of 'em still high on self congratulationary tweets, piss, and wind - there was much hilarity still being had on the street outside the Andrews Lane Theatre... Ah you can't bate the aul Irish when it comes to post event post irony postings. They love that shniz.

Glenda Gilson (Lifetime Achievement) |
Top of the awards show was The Glenda who got a Lifetime Achievement badge for being The Glenda all of her life. Restaurateur Joe Macken got the VVIP of The Year for his hipster eateries along the South William way, and James O'Neill won Quitter of the Year for his whole Bitches With Wolves thing.

Joe Macken (VVIP of the Year), Anthony Hennessy, James O'Neill (Quitter of the Year) |
Our very own Fade Street pairing Harry McCreery and Louise Johnston won Power Couple of The Year and Molly Iredale won Newcomer of the Year... Yup. ShowBiz luminaries all of 'em... Oh, and Bressie won Ride of the Year. Apparently he sings too. Seriously.
|
Harry McCreery, Louise Johnston (Power Couple of the Year) |
There were some other awards handed out but the likes of Rozanna Purcell and Daniella Moyles wuz playing silly buggers with our weak minded hunch backed snappers so we couldn't get the info on all the awards what they wuz carrying. Pesky hot models using their lovely charms on the paparazzi somehow.
|
Molly Iredale (Newcomer of the Year) |
All in all a good night for snaps with the likes of Holly Carpenter working it for the lens WAG style. And despite our jibing that the fundamental raison d'etre for this event went over the heads of some of the celeb types who took a night off from attending important envelope openings, a nice change of pace for the jaded Dublin PR scene. Well done to all.

Saying that, now that the South William Street VVIP Awards were such a success we can see next year's show being even bigger than the VIP Style Awards. Yup. Headline drinks sponsor on board, TV3 coverage, Xpose live from the red carpet, burly bouncers, media accreditation up the yazoo, a few heads from Hollyoaks & Corrie over, and the organisers pulling up outside in phallic orange sports cars... O wait.

Manners Oshafi & Emma Waldron |
So there you have it folks, yet more photos from the VVIP Awards. It just kept on giving... Now we're gonna do our own ironic awards show called: The Off South William Street Anyone Who Turns Up To This Is A Farcical Attention Seeking Media Wench With No Talent To Speak Of Other Than Turning Up To Events Like This To Beat The Band Awards 2013... Catchy. Jaysus, we'll be packed to the rafters.
