Harris'
Potter demands during The Count of Monte Cristo...
The
filming of the Count of Monte Cristo in Dublin
is leading to movie scandal like never seen before
in Ireland. The film which is shooting in Ireland's
famed Ardmore studios stars veteran Irish actor
Richard Harris, American actor Michael Wincott
(the baddie in The Crow and Robin Hood Prince
of Thieves) and LA Confidential's Austrailian
star Guy Pearse.
While
Pearse has only hit Dublin's nightspots once since
arriving here Wincott has been hitting the dance floors
everynight that he has off. The party animal even
took a night out with the Irish singing stunner Andrea
Corr from the band The Corrs after a party
with REM's Michael Stipe, who is here
with his band making their new album.
But
as usual hellraiser Harris has been causing the most
bother and this time it's noting to do with either
drink or women. The actor who is now 70 is cashing
in on his newly revamped popularity in Hollywood after
his performance in Gladiator that he setting
down new rules for his next movie the hugely hyped
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
According
to reports in one Irish paper the actor is looking
for a two percent stake in the profits from his role
as Dumbledore in the movie. Reports are that
the actor has asked his agent to set a new contract
for him. Instead of getting a flat fee for the role
he gets a percentage of merchandising profits arising
from the sale of products tied to the film rather
then the book.
And
as we all know Harris always gets his way. So, it
looks now like Harris will make a pile of money just
as the late Alec Guinness did from Star
Wars...
