Minnie Driver to star opposite Lord of the Dance...

Hollywood actress Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting and Circle of Friends) is to star opposite the world famous Irish dancer Michael Flatley in his upcoming film according to sources close to the dancer in Ireland. The film based on his rags to riches life story will be called Lord of the Dance and will start shooting in Ireland on September 16 and Driver will play the rich girl that Flatley falls for.

The film will shoot in both Dublin and Cork where the superhoofer has a multi-million pound castle called CastleHyde. The Irish leg of the movie will shoot for ten days and then move on to Chicago in the states where Flatley grew up for a further four weeks.

Sources are saying that the opening scenes in the movie are going to show Michael on the building sites like he did. It will also show Michael showing his love for dancing by dancing around the building site, yippee… Nobody's saying who is officially staring in the movie but names like Jennifer Tilly (who is in Ireland now filming the Magnificent Ambersons with Madeline Stowe) and Veteran Irish born actor Peter O'Toole are being thrown around.

The movie is expected to be released in April of next year and has been written by Flatley and Irish author and screenwriter Shane Connaughton, who wrote the Oscar winning script for My Left Foot.
