Former Rat King of Boomtown...

Former Irish rocker Bob Geldof is now ranked as the 18th richest person on the UK rich list. The Dublin born star who started his career as the lead singer with the Boomtown Rats has tripled his wealth by over £30 million in the past year.

The singer and businessman has however claimed that instead of spending his time spending money and making more he is going back to music.

But he does not think he will be touring within the UK and Ireland. He is instead getting ready to release a new album.

Speaking to the press over the weekend Geldof said, "I've been part of certain age group's lives for the past 25 years or so but that capacity has changed over the years. I don't think I'll be touring in the UK or Ireland." "If there was a poster with my face on it somewhere in Dublin or London punters would probably wonder what is was for. It's like a soap character stepping out of Eastenders and trying something different."

The star who enjoys making music more then business admits he does not mind people sticking their heads around the door when he's in a meeting but he does when he is making music. "If someone butts in when I'm working on music it really irritates me. What I'm trying to do is articulate the unsayable."

Geldof's new album is called Sex, Age and Death and is believed to be in reference to the death of his late wife Paula Yates.
