Banned from Slane...
Irish
pop super stars, Westlife have revealed plans
for a massive concert in Dublin's Croke Park
next year.
The boys sold out a record breaking 13-night stint
in the Point last June and see the stadium gig as
the next logical step.
According
to reports in the Irish press, the band are not performing
at this year's Slane concert as castle owner
Lord Henry Mountcharles would not have them.
Westlife
manager, Louis Walsh, has rubbished this claim.
He said: "We'll be playing Croke Park next year and
it is a far better venue than a field in Meath. Anyway,
I don't know why Mountcharles is going on about which
acts he will and won't have at Slane. The whole Slane
event is organised by the promoters, MCD.
He just receives a fee for his field."
Mountcharles
has said: "I have no time for manufactured groups
at all."
He
was more than happy, however, to have Westlife member
Bryan McFadden pay for the use of his castle
last year for his wedding to singer-turned-TV presenter
Kerry Katona.
Currently
in the US on their second attempt at breaking the
American charts, the band have had positive news as
their single, World of Our Own, has had extensive
play on nationwide radio.
They
are also due to team up with Beyonce and
Solange Knowles of Destiny's Child in San
Diego for the music festival Blockbuster Teenfest.
