Dunphy Lays Down Gauntlet at TV3 Party...

Irish TV station TV3 celebrated their 5th Birthday last night in the Four Seasons Hotel where TV pundit Eamon Dunphy laid down the gauntlet for his would-be chatshow competitor Pat Kenny.

ShowBiz Ireland popped into the TV3 party in the Four Seasons last night for a bit before they realised we weren't invited and politely asked us to leave.

The bash was billed as a "Trade Launch" which also incorporated their 5th Birthday.

A number of homegrown stars such as Eamon Dunphy and Grainne Seoige mixed with the sexy UK stars from such TV shows as Footballer's Wives, Bad Girls, and Emmerdale.

But the highlight of the night had to be the ever controversial Eamon Dunphy's speech in which he assured TV3 executives that his new chat show would be so successful that it would force Pat Kenny's Late Late Show to move to a different night.

Dunphy also hit out at veteran TV host Gay Byrne calling him "the grand old man of RTE".

It has been rumoured that when Eamon's new chat show goes on air his first guests will be Manchester United legends Roy Keane and Eric Cantona.
