Disney film forcing Irish job losses...

The new Irish made Disney film “Reign of Fire” which is expected to star Hollywood hardman Arnold Schwarzenegger is already hitting trouble in Dublin where it is being shot in February. Up to 20 small Irish business’s that use a small hotel in Dublin called the “Pigeon House Hotel” in which an enterprise centre has been set up were served with notice this week to leave by February 1, days before the epic Reign of Fire begin to shoot there.

The building is owned by the Irish Electricity supply board who have in the past rented in to a trust who in turn offer cheap rent to start up companies. Twenty of these are housed in the centre each one employing between 3 and 6 people.

The trust did try to buy the building but this was turned down and now with filming beginning in February a number of Irish people are set to loose their jobs.
