Dolores to Quit The Cranberries...

It may have been one of the last times The Cranberries graced a stage together in The Point on Friday night, as their lead singer Dolores O'Riordan plans to quit the band.

The Cranberries played their usual stomping set on Friday night when they blew away The Point Theatre. But the gig was more than piognant for some of their die-hard fans as their duminutive Limerick singer plans to move on to a solo career.

Dolores told the Hot Press recently, "I'm going to mess around now after the Greatest Hits. I'm not going to do another Cranberries album. I need a different project completely and the boys need some freedom for a while."

She also plans to quit Ireland for a while, "I'd like to do more work in the studio or places like Turkey or Africa. I'd record some different ethnic things and bringing it back for inspiration" she said.
