Section 481 here until 2008...

Good news for both Irish makers like Jim Sheridan and International film makers Jerry Bruckheimer - Section 481 Tax Incentive for the Film Industry WILL remain in place until 2008!

It's not very often that you will find news on the budget on the pages of ShowBiz Ireland... Well, it's just not ShowBiz enough!

But the exception has been made to report that Minister Charlie McCreevey, made the announcement yesterday as part of his Budget speech, that section 481 will be extended.

Obviously a popular decision as there were cheers and applause in the Dail.

The incentive, which ensures Ireland's place as a film location of global standing, will stay in place until 2008.

Well done to all those who campaigned to keep it in place.
