Louis' Rock n Pop search...

The POD, Harcourt Street in Dublin is the venue for auditions on Saturday 24th February for a new five piece rock/pop band. Louis Walsh, who is not content with his current stable of stars which include Ronan Keating, Westlife, and Samantha Mumba is now looking for five Irish guys between the ages of 18 ­ 24 to be in this new band which he himself will manage.

"This is definitely not a boy band. Each of the five guys chosen will all have to have musical ability. We have an album deal in place already with Merlin so it will be all systems go from day one" Louis said last night. "There have been some great rock/pop bands such as INXS, Savage Garden, Duran Duran and I am hoping that this will be another great rock/pop band."

With the success of Popstars hundreds are expected to turn up at the POD to audition. One of the judges, producer Denis Woods says "This is the opportunity of a lifetime for five lucky guys ­ it really will be a dream come true for the five that are chosen".

The judging panel will include Louis Walsh, producer Denis Woods, Melanie Morris, editor of D'side, Paul Little from Musicmaker, journalist Fiona Looney and Jon Mc Kee, editor of Q magazine.
