Burke up for Oscar for The Cell...

Irish girl Michelle Burke, who is originally from Kildare, has been nominated for an Oscar for Best Make Up for her work on Jennifer Lopez's new film The Cell. This however is not really something new for Michelle, who's father still lives in Dublin. She has already won two best Make over Oscars in the past and has been nominated six times altogether.

Speaking to members of the press Michelle said "It was a great honour. I'm working on another movie at the moment so I haven't had much time to think about it. But, I'm thrilled."

The special effect whizz is the eldest of ten children and moved to Canada when she was 29 where she was a model. She then married a film director Michael Winter and settled in California.

So far she has worked on films such as Jerry McGuire, As Good as it Gets, Interview with a Vampire and Austin Powers.
