Madonna & Ritchie to film Def Leppard...

Madonna and her film director husband Guy Ritchie are planning to make a movie about 80's rockers Def Leppard. The band who's two main members Joe Elliot and Rick Savage both live in Dublin have confirmed that the music icon has confirmed that the film will now be made by MadGuy films. The highest profile celebrity couple in the world have set up the production company together and now plan to start shooting on a full length film on Elliot's band and their days together.

The movie is being made for the music channel VH1 a sister station of MTV and will be broadcast later this year.

It will tell the story of the band and their history including their drummer and how he lost his arm in a car crash and Joe Elliot's love for former wife Karla the Irish girl he met and stayed with in Dublin before a high profile divorce.

Ritchie is planning to retrace the history of the band from their early roots in Sheffield in England in the late 70's which brought them to their classic Hysteria tour in 1988.

The band are still massively popular around the world with a March 1st concert in Houston, Texas selling all 50,000 tickets in just a week.
