Louis
Walsh's NOT boyband...
Irish music guru Louis Walsh flew back into
Dublin last night ,after spending time in Glasgow
watching Westlife, getting ready to create
another pop sensation this Saturday. "This is definitely
not a boy band. Each of the five guys chosen will
all have to have musical ability. We have an album
deal in place already with Merlin so it will
be all systems go from day one."
"The
band will be styled on the likes of Duran Duran.
Five lads who can sing and play instruments."
The
POD nightclub on Harcourt Street in Dublin is
the venue where Louis will hold auditions this Saturday
(24th February) for a new five piece rock/pop band.
Louis Walsh, who is not content with his current stable
of stars which include Ronan Keating, Westlife,
and Samantha Mumba is now looking for five Irish guys
between the ages of 18 24 to be in this new band which
he himself will manage.
There has been huge interest in this audition both
in Ireland and abroad with band co-ordinator Joanne
Byrne receiving phonecalls from as far afield
as Chicago and New York.
Over
500 wannabes are expected to turn up with guys traveling
over from London, Birmingham and Cardiff as well as
from all over Ireland.
With
the success of Popstars hundreds are expected
to turn up and try their luck on Saturday. One of
the judges, producer Denis Woods says "This
is the opportunity of a lifetime for five lucky guys
it really will be a dream come true for the five that
are chosen".
The
judging panel will include Louis Walsh (who has also
just started to manage Samantha Mumba's little brother
Omero), producer Denis Woods, Melanie Morris,
editor of D'side, Paul Little from Musicmaker,
journalist Fiona Looney and John Mc Kee,
editor of Q magazine.
