A
Star studded St. Patrick's Day...
Some of the worlds biggest celebrities are set to
descend on Ireland for St Patrick's weekend this year
- a weekend which will also host the first new look
Irish music awards. Elton John and George
Clooney are just two of the worlds biggest stars
set for Dublin on the 16th of March for the new and
improved Irish music awards which will be held in
the Point Theatre.
Elton
John will be in Dublin to perform with Ronan Keating
at the awards which are already sold out at £200 a
ticket. The event is being organised by Irish music
guru Dennis Desmond and will be broadcast around
the world on St Patrick's night.
Stations
which have bought the rights to the show include HPO.
The awards will be a who's who of Irish entertainment
with a selection of well known acts already confirmed
including David Gray.
The
proceeds of the show will go to the Aids foundation
and the IRMA music bank. Also expected in Dublin is
Hollywood heart-throb George Clooney who will
be in with girlfriend Lisa Snowdon who is presenting
her MTV show from Dublin over the Paddy's weekend.
The
couple are expected to stay in U2's Clarence
hotel. George however is not the only Hollywood
star in for the party.
Matthew
McConaughey and his fellow Hollywood star Christian
Bale will also make the party. They are in Ireland
for the next four months filming the $100 million
Reign of Fire movie in Ardmore studios.
Matthew
and girlfriend Sandra Bullock have been spending
a lot of time together down in Ardmore and have been
seen kissing and cuddling on the set.
However,
last Friday night Matt caught up with ShowBizIreland.com
on his way into the National Boxing stadium in Dublin
with the Irish boxer Jim Rock. The two have
become close friends and work out together in a tough
Dublin city centre gym when Matt is not filming.
Other
stars expected for Paddy's weekend include DJ Chris
Evans and his 18 year old girlfriend Billie
Piper. Evans is expected to host his radio show
from Dublin over the weekend of the festival.
