Bob didn't want to Marry Paula!!

Bob Geldof has been a singer, fundraiser, husband, father, business man, writer and Knight...

But Geldof admitted to ShowBizIreland.com last week that he never actually wanted to marry Paula Yates and that he the idea of doing it again with his current girlfriend Jeanne Marine would be far to emotional for him to deal with at the moment. But more kids may be an option.

"Myself and Jeanne are together six or seven years now and marriage is not an idea I have. However, it's probably an idea she has. I think she is totally cool with the way things are now. I personally just don't know if I could do that again. I really don't. I did not want to get married in the first place. I did not think it was necessary. I wasn't afraid of it I just thought what's the difference."

He went on, "I do not need my love sanctioned by a god or a state. But, when the Knighthood thing happened it changed. Paula was always mad to get married so I said OK lets go out to Las Vegas. At the time I was in LA and she came out and we went to Las Vegas and it was great fun. It was a good day. But, I'm not sure if I would put myself in such emotional hock again and that's the result of the last six years."

The veteran rocker who plays Vicar Street this month finished off by saying, "this is not fair to Jeanne but she is not particularly bothered about getting married anyway. However we could talk about the touchy subject of children but we would be on to an other thing all together."
