Broken Opens JDIFF 2013...

Maybe it was the Valentines madness folks, but apart from the immensity of Cillian Murphy and Tim Roth, there were very few local celeb types at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2013 Gala opening screening of 'Broken' last night. We had high hopes...

We were so convinced there was going to be a romper-stomper guest list at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival 2013 Gala opening that we sent two snappers along to cover. One to do the red carpet outside The Savoy, one to do the red carpet inside The Savoy. Sadly, the lovely Lisa Cannon & her fella Richard Keatley wuz the best we got outside.

Inside things didn't get much better apart from 'Broken' stars Cillian Murphy and Tim Roth who also picked up the Volta Career Achievement Award. Two quality actors and the pride of any red carpet. But we were hoping the supporting cast would be a tad more stellar what with it being the Gala opening and all that... No offense intended to those lovely people who did attend. We love each and every one of yiz.

But then again, it was St Valentine's Day so we're thinking all the romancing and wotnot going on had most of the usual faces off swapping flowers and chocolates and all that squishy malarkey... Love sick fools.

So there you have it folks, the JDIFF 2013 Gala opening... We had hoped for more famous Irish faces but we're sure they'll come out for the rest of the many events up 'til the closing on the 24th... Fingers crossed sez you.
