Amanda Byram joins The Big Breakfast...

Channel 4's The Big Breakfast is to have five hosts lead by Irish girl Amanda Byram when current presenters Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan leave the show. Van Outen and Vaughan introduce their last edition on Friday and, after a one week stint by guest presenters, the new team moves in from January 22.

It was already known that joining Amanda will be stand-up comedian Paul Tonkinson and current Big Breakfast co-presenter Donna Air would be involved.

Channel 4 revealed today that Melanie Sykes, who shot to fame in the Boddingtons TV adverts, and Richard Bacon, sacked from Blue Peter for taking cocaine, would boost the numbers to five.

Both have been involved in the programme before. Tonkinson is a well-known face on the London stand-up scene and hosts Channel 4 quiz show Dicing with Debt, in which students seek to battle clear of their debts.

Byram has her own TV show in Ireland and is the girlfriend of comedian Patrick Kielty, who reportedly also auditioned for The Big Breakfast.
