Irish stars fall victim to Porn sites...

Andrea Corr was the victim of a crude internet porn scam last week as it emerged that explicit fake pictures of the star are being used on porn web sites. A number of sites are using faked images of The Corrs' singer on their porn sites, along with hundreds of other stars. Other Irish stars including teen favourites B*Witched and MTV presenter Emma Ledden have also become victims of the popular celebrity porn sites.

One site had two photographs of a woman with Andrea Corr's head superimposed onto a naked body sitting on a stool and another indulging in an explicit sex act with another man. It boasted: "Fake pics of Andrea Corr" on the menu and printed her name on the photos which can be downloaded free of charge.

Another site promised: "Upskirt pictures of Andrea Corr and outdoor naked pics." But before surfers can view them they have to subscribe to a month's membership using a credit card.

These findings are certain to send shockwaves through the Irish music industry. Fake 'celebrity' porn sites have become a multi-million pound business for their creators, but had mainly focused on American stars in recent years.

Other star victims on the lewd sites include fake photographs of teen-sensation Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, Elizabeth Hurley and tennis ace Anna Kournikova.

The sites charge anything from $10 to $50 for a month's membership, depending on how explicit the fake photographs are.

Celebmaster.com boasted that it had naked photographs of Dublin MTV presenter Emma Ledden, along with other TV beauties. The star has become an overnight sex symbol since rocketing to fame across Europe on the music station.

A site called Britcelebporn.com offers subscribers an "All new story featuring the lovely Edelle and Keavy twins." The B*Witched sisters have a huge fan base among young children because of their clean-cut fun loving image. 'Celebrity' porn sites attract millions of hits each day and competition among them is fierce.

Many have 'free' preview galleries which include fake photographs of Britney Spears naked and indulging in sex acts. One promised subscribers an exclusive video of 'Britney' performing oral sex.

A popular American site had over 2000 fake snaps of Hollywood actresses and singers including Madonna, Cher and Mariah Carey.

Last night an Irish music indusry insider said the fake porn problem is set to get worse. "Until now the Irish stars like Andrea Corr and Emma Ledden had managed to escape the porn sites. But it was only a matter of time. And just like all the other stars around the world who are on them, there's not a lot they can do about it. The photographs are lewd and sexually explicit. But there are no real laws governing fake photographs on the net. This has been a problem in the music industry for a long time. High profile pop stars like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have spoken out about them long before now. When you consider how young they are it is particularly worrying that people can make money out of these girls. The problem is that the sites are very popular. A typical celebrity porn site can get over 100,000 'hits' in a day. The problem will get a lot worse before it gets better".

A pal of Emma Ledden said she was shocked by porn site using photographs of her. "She had no idea to be honest and she needs to find out a bit more about it first. This kind of thing is crude and taking adverting of people who are in the public eye. This seems to be a wide-spread problem now - not just with Irish stars."
