Louis Rolls with Cheryl's Punches...

Irish Pop Svengali Louis Walsh has shunned press outrage against his Girls Aloud beauty Cheryl Tweedy after she assaulted a niteclub attendant last Friday night.

According to reports Cheryl (19) punched an employee of a niteclub in Surrey in the UK last Friday night. A fight erupted after Cheryl was accused by one of the club's female employees of not tipping her after taking a selection of gum and mints from her counter.

Apparently Cheryl left the 39 year old black woman with a severely bruised eye after the row leading to press claims that the young Popstar Rival is a racist. She also landed herself with a night in jail over the incident.

But her manager Louis Walsh has played down the claims and given her a second chance. He told the Daily Mirror:

"She isn't getting the sack. She made a mistake and didn't handle things well - but there are two sides to every story. It's very easy to point the finger and accuse a famous person of being in the wrong. She knows what she did was wrong and I have spoken to her about it but I am not giving her the boot from the band."
