Last night Michael Flatley spoke in defense of boxing at the UCD Law Society debate, the motion put to the house was that boxing should be banned. Flatley, former Chicago Golden Gloves Amateur Boxing Champion, spoke in defense of the sport.

Michael turned up on the night to speak to the students with his stunning fiance Lisa Murphy on his arm showing off her rock of an engagement ring.

The dancer's successful "follow your dreams" philosophy earned him an Honourary Life Membership to the Law Society.

Also in attendance at last night's debate was Mr. Simon Block, General Secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control and Dr Steven Young Consultant Neurosurgeon at Beaumont.
