It's been a rollercoaster couple of days for former Busted frontman Charlie Simpson since he sensationally quit the teen band and took up with rockers Fightstar...

It's been long rumoured in the media that rocker-toff Charlie Simpson was sick of Busted and being managed like a typical boyband when all he wanted to do was play music.

So late last week Charlie announced he was leaving Busted to take up with a band he manages called Fightstar!

And in a stroke-of-luck for ShowBiz Ireland Fightstar had been booked into The Ambassador months ago, playing support for Taking Back Sunday, and Charlie turned up as one of their members...

But just as Fightstar got into their second song an object came flying from the crowd and hit poor Charlie in the head leaving a blood-like substance running down his face!

We initially thought it was a plastic glass filled with beer that struck a shocked Charles but in fact it turned out to be a small toy covered in red paint.
