Corrs
launch "In Blue" with Dad...
The Corrs showed off their proud Dad Gerry
at a plush party to launch their new album last week
in London. Supermodel Kate Moss, Baby Spice, Emma
Bunton, Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood and MTV babe Cat
Deeley were among 900 guests at the bash in London's
designer Saville Row store, Joop!
The
band who dedicated the album, In Blue, to the
memory of their late mother Jean, revealed
they wrote one moving album track for their grieving
Dad. The song, No More Cry, was written after
Jean Corr died while awaiting a liver transplant in
Britain late last year, Caroline stated. "We
wrote it for daddy after mummy died. It's saying stop
pain - reach out and believe in her love," said Andrea.
"It rocks a bit too like Garbage or Blondie.
It felt natural to go there."
Lead
singer Andrea believes their new album, the bands
first studio alum for three years, will be their biggest
smash hit yet. "Every band says their latest record
is their best she said. "But I really believe it.
It's us. It's who we are and we're very proud of it.
It reflects how we've progressed and what we've learned."
Also
on the guest list for the celebrations were All
Saints beauty Natlie Appleton, film director
Alan Parker and Royal Family star, Ralph
Little.
"Tonight is a celebration for the band, their friends
and family and the music industry," said the band
manager John Hughes. "The album won't be released
until July 14, but The Corrs will be too busy promoting
it across Europe to have a party any later.
The
new album is just the beginning of the latest challenge
for the band."
Also,
unofficial news from the UK is that The Corrs latest
single, Breathless, has gone straight in at
no. 1, making it their very first UK no.1 - but will
it hold on until the official chart on Sunday? Wait
and see...
