Ronan Keating death threat...

Ronan Keating has told the Irish press that he does not want bodyguards and that he has to keep the threats out of his mind. A stalker out to kill Boyzone front man Ronan Keating threatened to assassinate the star during a TV appearance.

Knowing the movements of the 23-year-old performer, the unknown maniac sent Ronan a death threat via his computer. The message said that Ronan would be killed during his interview on MTV Select.

MTV Select, the most popular show on the 24-hour music station is broadcast from a studio within yards of the general public - and the singer's management and police took the threat very seriously.

However, Ronan bravely decided not to cancel the appearance, and instead put his life in the hands of the London Police. And with the cooperation of MTV the singer changed the venue for the interview to an inner studio, well away from the public reach.

No less then six officers accompanied the pop star to the studio, and more armed police officers mingled with the crowds outside the stations London studios.

"It was unbelievable, there were cops everywhere," said one MTV employee. "We all thought that Ronan would pull out but he didn't want to upset his fans."
