Robbie
Williams on a Dublin bender - again?
In
an interview with Irish rock guru Dave Fanning,
former Take That singer Robbie Williams
admitted downing 23 pints of Guinness during
a drinking binge in Dublin. "I can't really drink
a lot," said Williams. "I got up very early in Dublin
that day. Drinking has never been the same for me
since. I'm upset that I can't do it anymore."
The
ironic man of pop also admitted writing 'Bono
Loves Robbie' on the toilet wall in the home of the
U2 frontman whilst "three sheets to the wind."
Williams
has been open about his ongoing struggle with alcohol
and drugs, citing the stress of work as a key triggering
factor. "I've still got my demons," says the 'Angels'
star. "But I'm making friends with them right now.
It's not as bad as it's been. I'm doing alright, I'm
doing the best I have on that front for a long time.
But I enjoy getting wasted, I really do."
Meanwhile,
Williams has quashed rumours that he may take on the
role of James Bond should Pierce Brosnan
decide to hang up his 007 spurs.
Despite
the Bond-style 'Millennium' video catching
the attention of the movie's producers, Williams is
firmly against signing up for Hty's er MajesSecret
Service.
"I
don't want to play James Bond," he says. "Pierce is
suave and sophisticated while I pee off balconies
from hotel rooms."
