Spielberg
& Bruckheimer go head to head...
Hollywood
heavyweights Steven Spielberg and Jerry
Bruckheimer are to go head to head in a race to
bring the real tale King Arthur to film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter Spielberg
is to produce a big-budget TV mini series about King
Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.
This news may compromise the plans of legendary producer
(and ShowBizIreland.com's biggest fan) Jerry
Bruckheimer's new Irish movie about the legendary
tale.

Following
the success of his Second World War TV series Band
of Brothers, which he produced with actor Tom
Hanks, Spielberg is close to agreeing a deal with
US network HBO. Apparently it will be an eight episode
drama depicting the life of the legendary medieval
English monarch.
Bruckheimer
attended a ShowBizIreland.com party this year
and told us he to plans to make a movie in Ireland
based on the real King Arthur tale:
"We are already developing a project to bring a movie
in here called King Arthur later this year. It's a
retelling of the tale. It actually happened much earlier
than movies in the past or the English have put on
it. They changed the way it was told. Like Arthur
was really Roman and the Knights of the round table
were actually Russian and were great horse men."
