Keith Duffy Does his Corrie Bit...

Ex Boyzone hero Keith Duffy finds the going gets tough when he tried to pull Coronation Street barmaid Shelley Unwin, which will be his first appearance.

He joins the cast of the TV3 soap opera next month as Ciaran McCarthy and wastes no time in making a move on Shelley played by Sally Unwin.

But his antics soon lead to trouble when she gives him the brush off and the pair tussle on a sofa. His hopes of pairing off also cause problems with her boyfriend Peter Barlow (played by Chris Gascoyne), who is Ciaran's old navy pal.

Duffy will first be seen on-screen later this month when viewers see his character arrive to spend a few days in Weatherfield.

A spokeswoman for the show said: "She's horrified by his advances."

Keith, whose Boyzone hits include When The Going Gets Tough, also starred in Celebrity Big Brother.
