Huberman's Homage To Heartbreak...
Clinic babe Amy Huberman is one of our favourite Irish actresses folks. Well she exudes class, has buckets of talent, and has somehow managed to tame rugby hero Brian O'Driscoll. Not being one to sit around waiting for her agent to ring, our Amy put pen-to-paper during one of her fallow acting periods and instantly became a Chick-Lit author. Hello Heartbreak...

Amy Huberman, Brian O'Driscoll |
Ever since she started dating Ireland and Lions rugby ace Brian O'Driscoll, petite actress Amy Huberman has had both her private and professional lives cast into the public eye. At the beginning we didn't think it looked too steady for the popular pair what with BOD going out-of-his-way and over-the-top to avoid being snapped with the stunner...

Amy Huberman, Brian O'Driscoll |
Thankfully, Amy 'tough cookie' Huberman took her famous fella by the ear and showed him how to deal with the tabloid press and the ensuing paparazzi... Now, rather than hiding away from the snappers, when Ireland's new golden couple has a big announcement they simply do a photocall and get the messy business out of the way without all the hassle. If only more celebs would follow suit.

Harold Huberman, Amy Huberman, Sandra Huberman |
And since announcing their recent engagement, Bramy (Brian & Amy) seem so much more comfortable talking about one-another and helping to promote and support each-other's careers... They actually seem to have got the private / professional balance right.

Shane Horgan, Amy Huberman, Victor Costello |
Last week was a good example of this when Amy launched her debut novel 'Hello Heartbreak' at The Sycamore Club surrounded by friends, family, colleagues and press. A rather proud looking Brian O'Driscoll and a few of his rugby chums showed-up and gladly posed for the cameras without any hullabaloo.

Geradine O'Driscoll, Barbara Scally, Brian O'Driscoll |
So What? You might say... Hey! This is light-years away from a rather camera shy O'Driscoll who would dodge past snappers and journos like he was running for the try-line a few years back. We almost had to hire in a few All Blacks as paps!
|
Leigh Arnold |
Also there at The Sycamore launch were Amy's rather raunchy Clinic pals Leigh Arnold and Victoria Smurfit, showing their support, as were her parents Harold & Sandra, and her soon-to-be mother in-law Geradine O'Driscoll...

Victoria Smurfit |
Irish rugby giants Shane Horgan and Victor Costello also propped Amy up on the night as did model Laura Toogood, actress Pauline McLynn, 98fm's Siobhan O'Connor and PR queen Joanne Byrne...

Laura Toogood |
Other guests on the night included Barbara Scally, Jennifer Ryan, Kevin Thornton, Ruby McLynn, Paul Howard, Claire O'Mara, and many more...

Siobhan O'Connor |
As we're not really big Chick-Lit fans we can't offer you a review of Amy's handiwork, but the paperback's in all good bookshops now, so go and check it out for yourselves. Apparently Brian O'Driscoll gives it two big thumbs up... Well, he would!
