In a exclusive interview with ShowbizIreland.com
U2 guitarist The Edge told how the band
have been keeping all details of their new album secret
because they want to relaunch themselves for the new
millennium by going back to basics. "We are going
to become a band again and go back to the way we were
in the 80's. The new album already has some great
tunes and we are aiming for the band sound again.
No Technology just the 4 of us like the old days."
The
Edge, aka Dave Evens was talking in the Royal
Hospital in Donnybrook where his father Garvin
Evens was launching a CD alongside Father Ted
star Frank Kelly. The CD called All Through
The Night was made by the Dublin Welsh male voice
choir who were formed by Garvin and some Welsh friends
in 1966 after he emigrated from llanelli, Wales.

has had over his musical career over U2 20 year career.
"My father has been a great influence on me and their
was always music around the house when I was growing
up,"
The
Edge said before heading back to the studio. "The
rest of the band are still in the studio working on
the album and I just came up here to show my support
and get a copy of the album. I have to head back to
the studio now for the rest of the night to continue
work on the album."
However
The Edge, who was listed as one of the richest pop
stars in the world with an estimated worth of 100m
refused to comment on a release date for the album
or any possible song titles or tour dates "I really
can't say for the moment all I can say is that it
will be worth the wait and it will the original U2
the band."

set to be launched this summer.
