Corrs
devote new album to their late Mother...
Irish supergroup The Corrs are to give the
ultimate and best birthday present to their late mother
when they release their new album. The Dundalk band
made up of the three Corr sisters and their brother
Jim are devoting their album to their late mother
Jean Corr, who died last November while awaiting
a lung transplant.
The new album In Blue was written as a memory
to their late mother. Lead singer Andrea Corr was
moving in her tribute to their mother Jean: "We made
it for Daddy after Mammy died. She was our guiding
light."
The
song No more Crying was written to help their
grieving dad Gerry get over the death. According to
the band it takes pride of place on the album.
The
group - Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim -
were in studio recording another album when their
mother became sick. They stopped recording to be by
her bedside. She was due to have a lung transplant
in Britain after being referred there, as there is
no specialist lung transplant centre here. However,
her health deteriorated and surgeons were unable to
operate.
In
Blue is the chart toppers' first album in three years
since their nine times platinum Talk on Corners
success. The band were talking to the Irish Sun
newspaper.
