Shane
Lynch &
Easther marriage not Eternal...
Boyzone
star Shane Lynch has admitted his two-year
marriage to Eternal singer Easther Bennett
is finished. The millionaire singer confessed "Physically
the marriage is over. We are still emotionally involved
but it just hasn't been working and I'm afraid we've
separated. It is difficult to see any way back."
However, talking to ShowBiz Ireland at the
end of 1998 Shane admitted exclusively that married
life was no bed of roses. "It takes a lot of work
from both of us,"Shane confessed.
Shane
dated the gorgeous singer for two years before they
got hitched, he said the couple were still living
together in Dublin. He
told the Sun newspaper "it's a shame because
we have had some great times together as husband and
wife but we are still best of mates and it is all
very civilised. It basically comes down to personal
reasons, which I don't want to go into. But we are
both trying to be grown up and mature about it. I
don't want to comment on matters like the divorce
because that's a personal issue for Easther and me.
We still love each other but we've become our own
person."
It
was reported that the star had apparently cheated
on his wife by sleeping with an Easther Look-alike
lapdancer called Verona Henry. But Shane explained:
"Easther and I had already decided to separate before
I met the lapdancer. So I wasn't doing anything wrong.
I was single and there's no law against it."
Shane
has been living a single life for the past two months.
He reveals: "Instead of going out with Easther, I
go out with my mates. Life goes on. I love what I'm
doing at the moment. I'm enjoying what I'm doing and
we're planning to be a band again next year for our
stadium tours."
Last night Easther, now working on solo projects,
told the Sun: "It's all a bit personal and I don't
want to say anything."
