Andrea Corr to star in a Hollywood Sizzle...

A spokesperson for the Corrs' singing star Andrea has confirmed that the star is in the frame for a major Hollywood role. The beauty is wanted for a remake of the classic movie The Four Feathers. Whether she gets the job or not could hinge on her willingness to film in the sizzling temperatures of the Moroccan desert.

Movie bosses are said to be worried how Andrea, 26, would cope with the searing heat after she and her older sister Sharon collapsed in a Californian desert while recording a video last month.

A source said: "Obviously, everyone and especially Andrea herself will have to think long and hard about it even at this early stage. It will be a touch schedule and no matter how much shade is provided it'll be difficult to hide from the North African sun."

Insiders reckon film giant's Paramount Pictures desperately want the Dundalk favourite - who is due to fly to London soon to meet casting agents.

The Four Feathers - first made in 1921 - is a romantic adventure revolving around the cowardice of a British soldier. Shooting of the new version, to be directed by Sheka Kapur, will last four months and is due to begin in September.

Versions of The Four Feathers were released in 1929, 1939, and 1956 as storm over the Nile. Another in 1977, stared Jane Seymour in the female lead role with Beau Bridges and Robert Powell.

Andrea has already made it onto the big screen, with bit parts in Madonna's 1996 Evita and in Alan Parker's smash hit The Commitments. The Irish Star newspaper contributed to this story.
