Gerry Adams Gets-Down To Cohen...
It seems Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams isn't just the one-dimensional stuffed-shirt we thought he was - oh no... The West Belfast man likes to get-down, and his chosen brand of groove? Leonard Cohen... Well we always knew that behind that beard and those glasses beats the heart of a true (folk) rock star...

Gerry Adams |
When we take a gander around the packed crowd of a concert there are always a few faces we expect to see, a few faces we hope to see, and a few faces that we never-in-a-million-years thought we'd ever see! Yes. We had one of those moments when we attended Leonard Cohen's massive concert in Dublin at the weekend... We only spotted Gerry Adams in the audience.

Leonard Cohen |
It seems Mr. Adams and a few pals were on a boys-night-out to celebrate their NO VOTE victory over the Lisbon Treaty referendum... But we thought it best not to keep pointing our lens in his general direction for too long just in case this whole peace process vibe doesn't pan-out. Ahem. Dum-de-dum.

Leonard Cohen |
But all that political shite aside, Gerry Adams sure has good taste when it comes to music, as Leonard Cohen is a god amongst musicians. He's a musician's musician. And at the age of 73 most of the fans in crowd probably felt that this was the last time they'd see Cohen live in concert. A lot of love and nostalgia in that crowd folks...

Damien Rice |
Leonard was supported at the concert in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham by a bit of an Irish legend too... Yup. Damien Rice was the support act, although we hoped he'd be joined by his former muse Lisa Hannigan... Damo without Lisa is a bit like cheese without the crackers. Someone bang the heads of those two eejits together...

Ruaidhri Conroy |
Another guest we spotted at the show was Oscar winning Six Shooter's Ruaidhri Conroy. Remember him as wee Tito in 'Into The West'? "Tito! Tito! They are trying to steal Tir na nOg..." We love all that shite.
