EXCLUSIVE
Westlife
2001 Dublin Tour Dates...
Irish
boyband Westlife are to perform their first Irish
concerts on the 19th and 20th of March 2001. In an
exclusive interview with showbizireland.com
a music insider said that the band have confirmed
they will do the concerts next year. This is the first
time the band have ever done their own Point shows
and we expect it to sell out in a matter of hours.
However,
speaking about the concerts last night Louis Walsh,
Westlife's manager said "We will play the two dates
and more than likely we will take a whole week in
the Point. Due the fact that the band are so big."
The
band who hail from both Dublin and Sligo have had
a record four straight number ones and already established
a massive fan base across the globe. Part managed
by Boyzone's Ronan Keating, Westlife are currently
set to enter the record books if their new single
goes to number one in the charts.
The
Irish band are poised to become the first band to
have a single glide to number one in the first week
of being released for the fifth time in a row.
This
means that every single they have released so far
has gone straight to the top an achievement that eluded
great artists like Elvis, ABBA, The Beatles and Buddy
Holly.
The
2000 mix of Fool Again was released yesterday and
has been literally flying off the shelves, according
to HMV. It includes a CD rom showing video and interview
footage of the boys and an as yet unheard single Tunnel
of Love.
According
to a spokesperson for HMV it is a safe bet that the
single will have gone to number one by next week.
