The former Pogues wildman Shane McGown played a sold out secret gig last night for a few hundred fans in Dublin. However, the singer looked a little worse for ware as our exclusive pictures show. The singer had already played one concert at the start of the night in UCD for the college's annual ball and by the time he got to Eamon Doran's pub in Temple Bar and got on stage it was nearly 2am.

Still McGown failed to disappoint fans as he played a hour set in the basement of the Irish bar to thunderous applause from the loyal.

THE CRIMINALS HIT HOME
Dublin’s Olympia Theatre was backed to the rafters last night for the first of three Irish concerts by the New York Irish band the Fun Lovin’ Criminals. Just after 9pm all 2,000 fans in the Olympia roared as Huey Morgan sang the first few cords of Scooby Snacks.

Rumours were that either the Corrs star Andrea (Huey’s ex-girlfriend) or U2 singer Bono (a friend of the band) may show up at the concert or the after show party after in Huey’s Dublin bar Voodoo which he owns with the Irish publican Dermot Doran.

Playing a variety of their hits from all three of their albums including their latest single Loco the band are expected to play a secret concert tonight (Friday) in Doran’s where Pogues singer Shane McGowan played on Wednesday night.
