McGowan to walk down the Aisle...

Wildman Shane McGowan is to wed. The former Pogues singer is to marry his longterm girlfriend writer Victoria Clarke later this year according to reports in the Irish media. The couple have been dating for the past 15 years and despite catching him in bed with another women the couple are still together.

"I tried to kill the girl but she locked herself in the bathroom and I could not get at her. So I just kept hitting Shane over the head. I was furious. I swore I'd never talk to him again but then his sister phoned me and told me he was missing me. We are still very much in love. We are getting married this year. More for the party and the fun of it."

Victoria also told of how many people were confused about what she saw in the singer but she said is was a different kind of beauty. "A worse situation would be to marry someone like Johnny Depp who'd have every women from the age of 10 trying to get off with him. I think you're better of with an unconventional beauty."

Victoria's book on life with Shane called A Drink with Shane McGowan has just been published but her first book written about Nirvana was not as she was put off by Kurt Cobain's wife Courtney Love.
