Elton to get 100k Aids Pay Check...

Elton John is to pick up £100,000 tonight in Dublin's Point Theatre for singing one song at the Meteor Irish Music Awards with Ronan Keating. However, Elton is giving every penny of the money away to his Aids Charity. The singing legend is due in Dublin later today for tonight's awards but the he will not be hanging around.

After arriving in Ireland he will be whisked to the Point for a sound check and rehearsal with Ronan. He has been put up in the new Four Seasons hotel in Dublin 4 but the word is that the star will not even stay for the party never mind for the whole night in Ireland.

The last time the star was due in Ireland was for the wedding of Spice Girl Victoria Adams and footballer David Beckham. He failed to arrive claiming he had an ear infection.

Tonight's awards will be screened all over the world on Sunday night and will feature Irish stars such as Sinead O'Connor aswell as Atomic kitten, Gabrielle, The Dream Team, Hollywood stars Jason Patric and Matthew McConaughey, Ash, JJ72, and Def Leppard.

Despite a good year Westlife, U2 and Samantha Mumba have all only received one nomination.

All together the night will raise close to £170,000 for Elton's Aids Foundation and the Irish IRMA trust. It will also reach over 100 million people worldwide.
