5ive star Jay misses trial date...

5ive star Ritchie Neville was left alone in court in Dublin on Monday after band member Jay Brown from the band failed to show. Both men where involved in a punch up in a Dublin pub the night before their Dublin concert. Neville was fined £3,000 which was put into the court poor box.

The 21 year old star whose real name is Richard Dobson and Jay Brown were involved in a fight in The Palace bar in Dublin when a 25 year old Irish man Finan Gallagher was allegedly punched in the eye and needed hospital treatment.

Ritchie admitted being drunk and disorderly and breaching the peace last December. He then offered £2,000 to be put into the court poor box. But, Judge Michael Connellan told him to up the amount to £3,000.

After the case Ritchie told waiting reporters "I'd just like to say I'm happy with the result. Sorry to the police for wasting your time. And to the fans in Dublin thanks for sticking by us. We've always had a great time when we come over here and been treated with respect and kindness."

Missing the trial Jay Brown's council told the court that he was in the US visiting his sick mother. But the Judge said that Brown has not got the "common courtesy" to tell the court in advance of the trial so he would therefore have to pay the cost of bringing back the 11 witnesses for a new hearing in October.
