Madonna
set for 2 Dublin dates?
In
a world exclusive ShowBizIreland.com has learned
that the Material Girl Madonna is currently
in talks with the concert promoters SFX, Irish
promoters MCD and
Dublin's Point Theatre about playing two dates
in Ireland later this year.
ShowBizIreland.com
sources have confirmed that they are in talks about
bringing the Queen of Pop to Ireland for the first
time ever this summer. Dates mentioned for the two
concerts in Point look like being held either in June
or September but nothing has yet been signed.
At this stage a September date would definitely look
more realistic. A source in Dublin told us last night
that the event was an on/off event. "They have been
trying to get her in and it was looking good. It's
all got to do with the global promoters SFX and local
promoters like MCD as well as the Point. It would
be huge if it's gets the go ahead. But, Madonna and
her people don't look to keen on Ireland at the moment.
Two dates were all that were being mentioned for the
moment but it's all up in the air. She is talking
about a few low key events in the states like she
has already done in London. But, it could be on today
and off tomorrow. So, we will just have to wait and
see."
However
for the moment and although they have not yet decided
on a joint movie project, Madonna and her husband
director Guy Ritchie are continuing to work
together. The couple, who teamed up for Madonna's
latest video What It Feels Like for a Girl,
in which she portrayed a deranged woman at the wheel
of a car, are to collaborate on a commercial for BMW.
No
details are being released about how much they are
being paid but it is likely to be one of the most
expensive commercials ever made.
