Mikey Graham in Cannabis storm...

Boyzone star Mikey Graham has been banned from appearing at a chain of stores to promote his solo single after his revelations recently that cannabis should be legalised. Supermarket giants Asda claimed that the singer was no longer welcome in their stores following Mr Graham's controversial remarks.

The 27-year-old Boyzone star was due to appear in several of the British chain store's branches over the upcoming month as part of a promotional tour which was due to take off in the chain's major store in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Sources close to the singer have said the star was disappointed by the retail chain's decision. Graham said "I'm devastated about the image that has been portrayed of me." There was a furious outcry after tabloid reports that Mikey, who's debut solo single You're My Angel has been released, admitted to smoking cannabis in the past.

A spokesman for the singer added that he had been misquoted saying he backed the legalisation of cannabis for medical purposes only and not for social and recreational use.
