Baby
Spice wants Green Energy...
Starting today an impressive list of top international
acts, fantastic live street carnival, music seminars
and the hugely popular Heineken Hot Press Band
Challenge all make up the Heineken Green Energy
Festival which run's until Monday night and finishing
with a star studded party in Dublin's Sugar club where
Baby Spice, Emma Bunton is rumoured to be a
surprize guest.
This
year there is a new aspect being added to the mix,
a street exhibition commemorating the life of The
Diceman, Thom McGinty, Dublin's most amazing and
much-loved street mime artist.
A
wall of water, a giant bottle shaped marquee and a
pontoon on the Liffey are also featuring in the Festival
The Music - Some of the world's biggest acts Dublin's
street will be buzzing and alive with music over the
May Bank Holiday weekend when some of the world's
top acts take to the stage.
Buena Vista Social Club, the Manic Street Preachers,
Travis, The Divine Comedy, St Germain, JJ72 and
many more will be entertaining thousands of concert
goers in Dublin during the 3 day Heineken Green Energy
Extravaganza.
But
it's not just the big venues - Smithfield, Dublin
Castle and the Olympia - that will be jumping to the
beat, many music venues, pubs and clubs around the
city will be alive with music to suit everyone!
The
Band Challenge - 30 of Ireland's young hopefuls A
record number of bands entered this year's Heineken
Hot Press Band Challenge and over 50 A&R representatives
will be thronging the Band Challenge Performance trail
over the weekend.
Thirty
of Ireland's young hopefuls will be playing in Eamonn
Dorans, Isacc Butts, Fitzsimons, O'Briens and Howl
at the Moon starting on Friday 4th May with the Finals
on Monday 7th May in the Temple Bar Music Centre.
The
Seminars - Careers in the Music Business A series
of free seminars will take place in the Temple Bar
Music Centre on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May, at
11.30am - 1.30pm and 2pm - 4pm on each day, as part
of the Heineken Green Energy Festival.
The
'Careers In Music' seminars provide an unique opportunity
for face to face informal discussions with some of
Ireland's best known experts in the music industry
for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the
business.
The
Street Carnival - Exhibition commemorating the life
of 'The Diceman' Twenty of the most amazing costumes
ever worn by The Diceman will be on display around
the streets of Dublin, adding colour and excitement
to the street carnival aspect of this year's Festival.
