Billy
Connolly coming to Dublin...
Scottish
comedian Billy Connolly has confirmed he is
coming back to Ireland as part of his return tour.
The last time he played Ireland (1995) he sold out
24 consecutive nights at the Olympia Theatre.
His
new tour titled "30 years and still erect"
will start in Dublin's Point Theatre on August 27th
until August 29th and will then come back to Ireland
on October 4th and 5th for two more shows in Killarney.
Connolly
is undoubtedly the world's funniest man. It would
be an injustice to describe him merely as a stand-up
comedian. He has taken observational humor through
30 years of public acclaim.
His
stage shows continue to sell out within hours, and
his television shows are unmissable. But along the
way, Billy has become a talented musician and singer
and early experiences with acting have led to recent
critical acclaim in movies and television drama.
Early
experiences on tour have led to a great worldwide
following, and his recent world tours of Scotland
and Australia, which aired to great critical acclaim,
have added the profession of explorer to his toolbag.
Billy continues to tour, years after achieving riches
and fame. From working class roots in industrial Glasgow,
to international stardom, Billy still retains his
link with the street humour that made him famous.
