Jean Butler's Riverdance Curse...

Irish dancing babe Jean Butler to become an author and leave behind the Riverdance curse which seems to followed her since she left the show.

The dancer only last week lost her job working with her husband in his Dublin clothes shop, but has not let this get her down.

The shop called after her husband, Cuan Hanley, closed last week so now Jean has told the Irish Press that she is to start a new career as a author.

The singer also talked about her former Riverdance days saying, "It was a fabulous time of my life. Now it's time for me to move on. I really find being able to communicate through words a fantastic experience."

Jean also admits she still gets the buzz from dancing. "I just would not be able to jump as high as I used to be."

Unfortunately, the former dancer has had nothing but bad luck since leaving Riverdance. Her show with fellow Riverdancer, Colin Dunne, Dancing on Dangerous Ground flopped leaving massive loans after failing in both London and New York.

Both Jean and Michael Flatley started in Riverdance together back in 1995. Jean was the latter to leave the show a short while after Flatley did.
