Noel
joins Kelly in Vicar Street...
Oasis
frontman Noel Gallagher secretly jetted into
Dublin last night to perform at the Dublin venue
Vicar Street during a private concert by the lead
singer of the Stereophonics, Kelly Jones.
Jones, was set to play his first solo concert featuring
songs from his new solo album, Just Enough Education
to Party, at the gig in intimate surrounds of
the Thomas Street venue alone. But when the singer
arrived at the venue he had the Oasis singer with
him plus the new guitarist with Oasis Jet Marshall.
Just
after 9pm both Gallagher and Jones hit the stage in
front of around 800 lucky fans . The duo sang the
Oasis hit Live Forever to a delighted and surprised
audience.
Fans
and organisers both were shocked at the arrival of
Noel to the gig. Kevin Fennell of Vivid
Imaginations the PR company for the concert was
overjoyed at the the news. “This was such a shock
to all of us here. It’s a great boost for Kelly as
nearly all his record company V2 from London
are here to se his first concert solo. Noel
just arrived for the show at 5.30 this evening and
went straight in for an acoustic sound check with
Kelly. It a real treat for the fans.”
After the concert Noel and Kelly headed out to celebrate
the success of the gig before returning to their suites
in the luxury five star Merrion hotel across
from Government buildings.
Noel
has been in Ireland only recently with his brother
Liam for their grandmother's funeral.
